About the Garden

Come join us on a walk in His garden.

Let’s press deep into the heart of God and embrace the intimacy that we were created to have in Him.

ESV Gen 3:8-9: “And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?””

In the following parable, the lost son returned to his father after he had squandered his inheritance. So, how did the father respond?

ESV Luk 15:18-20: “I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”‘ And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”

We were once like the prodigal son. We were separated from the Father by our choice to follow the course of this world, to follow the path of sin. But God responded just as in the parable above.

ESV Eph 2:1-7: “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience- among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ- by grace you have been saved- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

Embrace the intimacy that we now have through God’s Spirit; the Spirit He sent to teach us the truth about Himself and His Son, Jesus. Embrace that intimacy and look forward to the even greater intimacy we are promised when we see our Jesus face to face!

ESV 1Cor 13:12: “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”

In the Garden by Emily Ann Roberts

This song touches on the intimacy we have as we walk in His garden. It is the reality of our faith in Jesus, here and now! And His Spirit is our assurance of even greater intimacy to come… when we see Him face to face.

Will you walk with Him today?

ESV 2Cor 5:1-5: “For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens… He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.”
