The intimacy of God’s presence…

Which of the above pictures represents your perspective regarding your relationship with the Father? Do you perceive God as if He is out there somewhere… on a mountain top, in a temple, or even way up there in heaven? The reality of the New Covenant is that we are traveling through this life together with God through the Holy Spirit that lives within us. If we want more intimacy with God we don’t need to look up… we need to look in.

I pray that we all embrace the intimacy of the New Covenant relationship that we have with our Father. God and Jesus sacrificed greatly to give us the opportunity to become His children. How tragic would it be if we fail to honor that gift and fail to live in the intimacy and freedom of the New Covenant?

NASU Rom 15:13: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

NASU Jn 4:19-21,23-24: “The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. … But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.””

NASU 1Cor 3:16-17: “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.”
